So, tomorrow I’ll be officially opening up my book club to the general public for a day.

And, I’m going to let you test the whole thing out for FREE!

I have lot’s to say on the matter but want to have time to articulate my thoughts and stuff in a more comprehensive blog post. So tomorrow, I’ll have a blog post here and a “members button” for you to join.

Getting to know your customers through Ning!

Lately I’ve been building some sites with Ning. It’s a social community site similar to Myspace or Facebook, but without all the super crazy distractions.

What I’ve really be digging about Ning is that it really provides an atmosphere where people can interact with each other much more in depth then in a typical forum. Users can exchange videos, write their own blog posts, upload pictures, music, etc etc.

But here’s where I think it gets really cool. Because of the options the users have to contribute to the site, you get a really good glimpse into them as “real people”. Most savvy marketers talk about the need to get to know your prospects.

Well, with Ning you get a really good idea of just who your target audience is. You get to see their faces, their likes and dislikes, their rants, raves, and whatever they are willing to put out there.

My girlfriend and I have been working on a site and she’s been very interested in finding out exactly who would be replying to her Adwords ads. Well, after quite a few clicks we are starting to get a good idea of who the target market really is.

We can now see their pictures, location, and get a really good feel for who the target market is.

Anyhow, what I really love about Ning the most is the simplicity behind using it. Anyone can set up one of these sites. You can have it open to the public or make it private and require registration. You can use the free version, or pay $20 to strip away the Adsense ads and add your own monetization method in it’s place.

All in all, Ning is pretty darn cool.

We just moved the Easy Video Sales mastermind over there and I already like it 10 times better.

So, if you are in need of creating a social community for your niche websites, take a look at Ning. You might dig it as much as I.

Cheers,

J-Mo

Bad News! No Seriously, This Is Not Good Stuff.

There’s a ton of speculation going around right now about the financial crises and mortgage debacle in the United States.

Right away I’ll admit that I’m no financial genius, don’t have a huge understanding of the stock market, and inherently don’t trust politicians from either side of the aisle.

However, I do know one thing…

When Republicans and Democrats instantly start agreeing on the issues something is severely wrong. I don’t believe there is very much partisanship in the house or senate even if they pretend to work along side each other. Each side hates the other and will do just about anything to further their own agenda.

However, when both parties instantly group together and try to pass legislation to the tune of 700 Billion dollars a few red flags go up in my mind. And consider the fact that they are trying to “RUSH” this legislation through is another huge Red Flag.

Should we really be rushing with $700 Billion dollars in tax payer money?

Again, I’m no economist. I just sit back and make lot’s of cash on the internet. Ultimately I won’t be affected nearly as bad as most people because the government can’t take away sales chops. Those I’ll have forever, or until I kill all my brain cells.

But I have to admit I’m a bit worried about others. Now I’m not the kind of guy who jumps on doom and gloom band wagons. I always like to see the positive in any scenario. However, this financial meltdown has me scared for fellow Americans, and others whom will be affected in other countries.

The last time Republicans and Democrats hurried together like this we ended up attacking Iraq. Now I don’t want to get into a political debate here, but I think we can all agree that the scenario in Iraq could of used a bit more HONEST debate before the attack.

And now both sides of the aisle are frantically trying to pass legislation which few of us understand. I reckon quite a few of the people involved in the decision making process don’t even fully comprehend the implications either.

Despite my lack of knowledge in this arena, I do know how politicians work, and they don’t just “Suddenly Agree” on issues of this magnitude, which tells me something is severely wrong. They know things they won’t tell the public because of fear we will panic.

Is your money safe? I don’t know. Is your house safe? I don’t know. Surely many of you will be suffering lowering prices in the Real Estate market. That may be a good thing for some, horrible for others.

At the end of the day, I admit that I’m just a crazy sales guy who won’t be too affected by whatever happens. Even if we end up with days like MAD MAX and we are fighting for that last gallon of gasoline, I’m much more prepared then the average citizen.

But I’m afraid for many people out there that don’t have the resources and ability to generate cash at will through pure salesmanship and hustle. And they may suffer a bit.

I understand that many slick marketers always say that a recession is a great time to get rich. They are not too worried. However this scares me because I think smarter, richer, and well positioned people will continue to take advantage of their fellow man. Heck, it’s all the bamboozling from salesmen that got us here in the first place.

It’s gotten to the point that I’ve almost begun to dislike marketers as much as politicians. Such is life.

So anyhow, this situation scares me. I think there are many things we are not being told. I think Republicans and Democrats that are “In The Know” right now are shitting their pants with the reality that this country could be severely crippled. Hence the quick action before proper debate.

Maybe they are afraid China will own half our damn country. Maybe it somehow enables other terrorists in some fashion. I really don’t know, nor pretend to.

Yet, I do know that Republicans and Democrats don’t come together this fast to pass legislation of this magnitude unless something is severely wrong. And I think it is the right move to not alert the American public because I’m not sure we could handle the whole truth. Especially since the whole damn market is built on “Speculation” as opposed to reality.

So what can you do?

I’d learn to become a bad ass salesman really quick if I were you. You may need it to take care of your immediately family, and maybe a few more beyond that. We’ve been very spoiled people, and many of us take that for granted. Especially those of us whose pockets are swollen with easy internet riches.

But I recognize that is just a small amount of people. Not everyone has great success on this wild and wacky internet.

Today I’m so grateful for the things I learned from Gary Halbert, Dan Kennedy, John Carlton, and Frank Kern. Those are my 4 main go to guys that have molded me into the salesman I am today. And I’m also grateful for all my spiritual teachers that have taught me how to sell within moral boundaries that I am comfortable with, and provide immense value to others. Without these skills, I’d be screwed working the old 9 to 5 or some piss poor hustling job.

And one of the things that really brings gratitude into my life is to know that my products help people to achieve great things in business, life, and personal growth. I can’t express how warming it is to know that my advice, videos, and business tips have helped others to break through huge challenges in life and biz.

Much of what I teach expands beyond just marketing. Many of you probably don’t see that side of me very often, but it’s there. It’s serious, loving, and the real joy in my life.

Those of you that are in my book club will see exactly what I’m talking about in the coming months. Some of you already have seen, and know my internal makeup.

Anyhow, I want to wish you all the best during these turbulent times and I want to give you a chance to join my mastermind team, my video group, and my book club.

So here’s my offer to you today…

I’m going to send you to my salesletter for Easy Video Sales in a moment. If you get access to Easy Video Sales in the next 7 days, I’ll give you FREE yearly access into my book club. That’s well over a $500 value into the book club.

The reason I think this is such a great bargain for you is because my Easy Video Sales teaches way more then just video. We have an entire copywriting section with many copywriting legends, a persuasion portal, insane amounts of video, and the list goes on and on and on.

Anyhow, I know for a fact this will help anyone who wants to take their business to the next level and to learn to better communicate with others.

Out of the stone age. Finally got a iPhone!

I’ve been apprehensive of getting a Apple iPhone for a few reasons. First, I don’t really like phones all that much. The idea of getting anything that will increase phone time for me is not very attractive in any fashion.

Secondly, the phone I’ve had (some old Verizon Samsung flip phone) works great. It’s small, the battery lasts forever, and the coverage is excellent.

Also, I was locked into a 2 year contract as well, and that contributed to the hesitation to switch as well.

Another hassle is that I have nearly “no credit”. I’ve had a philosophy over the last 8 years that basically goes like this… “If you can’t pay cash, you can’t afford it”. Sadly, this type of thinking has crippled me a few times when confronted with credit checks and such.

I couldn’t even rent a house last month and I offered to put down a $22,000 deposit and have references out the wazoo!

However, yesterday I finally took the plunge and got me a 3g iPhone. Shockingly, I passed the credit query with no problems. I thought for sure I was going to have to put down a $1000 deposit. I was ready to do so but somehow it was not needed. Maybe all the credit repair stuff I’ve been doing lately is starting to work.

Anyhow, this iphone is a beast! Seriously, it is so freaking cool. It may be the coolest invention in the last few decades. It would be so cool to get in a time machine and take the iphone back to the 1950’s and blow people away. Well, I guess you wouldn’t have internet connection back then, but you get my point.

People would think you were an alien from another planet with highly superior technological gadgets. I don’t know what took me so long.

Not only is it a phone, but it’s got a GPS unit, music player dialed in with iTunes (check out the app Shazam!), a camera, a notepad, a mini computer, and a total time waster with instant access to YouTube. There is so much more that I can’t even type it all.

What’s really cool too, is that the thing is so intuitive and easy to learn. At first I was intimidated with learning a new gadget, but I should of known that Apple makes things dead simple. If you can work at McDonalds and push the button for a #4 Quarter Pounder Meal, then you can probably run the iPhone.

If you don’t have one, I highly recommend it.

The only drawback so far…

It’s too big.

Other then that, this thing is pretty darn slick.

Cheers

J-Mo

PS: I’m curious, what are your favorite apps for the iphone? The only ones I’ve added so far are “Shazam” and “Twitteriffic”.

Any suggestions?

J-Mo’s Book Club – First Month Free!

I was supposed to open the doors to the book club today, but decided to delay it until October 1st for new members.

The reason I’m delaying is because I want to focus on existing members for the first 2 weeks, am in the middle of a product launch, helping my girlfriend with her site, and have 3 interviews to do this week with John Carlton, Mike Koenigs, and Jeff Walker.

Busy, busy, busy.

Anyhow, because of the short delay I made this video and also decided I will comp everyone for the first month of October. Here’s the vid..

Rich Schefren’s New Report & Free Teleseminar

About a month ago I attended “Guru Fest 2008″.

Okay, okay, there is no such thing as “Guru Fest”. But it sure seemed like it.

It was actually just a bunch of us marketers sitting back playing video games, surfing, watching movies and drinking some child safe apple cider at Frank Kern’s Mass Control Headquarters.

The roster there was sickening… Frank, Mike Filsaime, Brad Fallon, Andy Jenkins, Jeff Walker, Matt Trainer and Rich Schefren (and I’m probably forgetting a few).

At any given moment you could see me blowing off Mike and Jeff’s head at “Call Of Duty”, or Andy Jenkins doing his best “Steve Perry” impersonation while playing “Rock Band”, because let’s face it… “The Wheels In The Sky Just Keep On Turning”.

And while all this was taking place, Rich Schefren was off on the sunny deck “working on his new report”.

He wouldn’t put that damn laptop down all weekend.

We even got Filsaime and Walker out into the ocean to drink some salt water smoothies while they attempted to learn to surf. (They actually did fairly well. Surprised they stayed out so long).

While we were out in enjoying the waves, Rich was furiously typing away on his laptop. I was like “Geez Rich, is this report going to be a freaking Bible or what?”

Anyhow, even while all of us were watching the classic movie “Superbad” (I just got a McLovin T-Shirt on eBay the other day) guess what Rich was doing?

You guessed it! Working on that freaking report.

Rich has become like the “Report King”.

However, it wasn’t until spending a good chunk of time with him this weekend that I really paid attention to how important his reports actually were. You see, I had hung out with Rich many times, but it was always in a party environment, or just chilling at a dinner.

Never had I actually indulged into what he was all about business-wise. But during this weekend I learned some very valuable things that I instantly started to put into action with my business.

Lot’s of other marketers credit Rich for some pretty eye opening stuff as well.

You can listen to a audio below with like 10 top-notch dudes talking about the things they did to overcome hurdles in their business with Rich.

Click Here To Listen To The FREE Audio (Each segment is only like 7 minutes or so)

Anyhow,

There’s a few things I picked up from Rich that I won’t share publicly on the blog. It’s just too good and juicy, and I don’t want to give away any secrets that Rich may be holding in his back pocket.

After closely paying attention to Rich throughout the weekend I realized something very crucial about the way I was running my business, and some things I was doing terribly wrong. I quickly started to change it.

The results? Nothing but steady growth, and I expect it to keep skyrocketing.

So, Rich is coming out with a new report in a few days. I’m not sure what day, but some time this week I believe. I will tell you, I HAVE NOT READ IT YET!

But after watching him type away on his Mac and seeing his fingers get darn near bloody from all the keying away, it’s gotta be good. I’ve seriously never seen someone write with such determination.

Keep your eye out for that report. It will be worth a read.

Take a listen to this audio, and sign up and you’ll probably get a heads up from him when it’s released.

Click Here For The Rich Schefren Audio Interviews

I’m sure you’ll hear about the report being released either way.

My personal story is very similar to many of those on this call. Once I brought my tech guy/customer support guy Ryan into my business things have been great. I can finally focus on what I’m good at instead of the tedious things that hold me back.

It’s interesting to see the dramatic growth of any company once you get the right people in place. And trust me, I’ve seen this stuff first hand. Especially with Frank Kern’s business. I’m friends with all his team members and it’s really eye opening stuff to see how a functioning business like this runs day in and day out.

And it surely gives us more time to surf!

Okay, gotta run. Check out that audio, it’s pretty good stuff.

Cheers,

J-Mo

PS: The other day I wrote a email for the Stomper Promo, and had a few things to say about Andy Jenkins and Rich Schefren. I had ease dropped on a conversation they were having and it really was the turning point that made me decide to pay more attention to Rich… (and Andy).

Here is that email I sent out…

EASE DROPPING ON ANDY JENKINS & RICH SCHEFREN

AND… THE TRUTH!

Hi {!firstname_fix},

In just moments the Stomper Guy are releasing this freebie package right here…

http://www.jasonmoffatt.com/insanefreebie/

I’m pretty sure you’ve been bombarded by tons of email from other affiliates about this.

But I want to tell you a quick story and the dirty truth about a hour long conversation that
I recently overheard at Frank Kern’s “Secret Hideout”.

A bunch of us internet marketers were sitting back, relaxing, playing XBOX, and drinking some refreshing beverages.

Out on the deck Andy Jenkins and Rich Schefren were passionately discussing something that really blew me away.

They were going NUTS about how they could help their customers consume more of their info.

Now don’t get me wrong.

They weren’t scheming to figure out how to get more customers. They were intently discussing how to focus on their existing members and getting EVERYONE up to speed.

And here’s what made me really dig Andy and Rich…

The was sincerely peeved that more of his customers weren’t having wild success.

Now don’t get me wrong. Many of us hear the awesome success stories from the top players in their groups, but often… the little guy gets forgotten.

As long as the vendor is getting their money, who cares right?

Well Andy and Rich sincerely care.

And I mean cares to a level that I thought was insane!

Andy and Rich were rabidly discussing ways to help their members better consume their info.

It actually seemed like a lost cause to me. Because let’s face it, most people just ain’t going to do shit no matter how great the info is.

That’s not Andy’s or Brad’s or Rich’s fault. That’s just human nature.

But that wasn’t cool with them. They wanted better for their people. Especially the little guy who wasn’t getting it. And even the ones right in the middle that just need to jump that last hurdle.

Seriously, I was shocked at the level of intensity between Andy and Rich during this conversation.

And this wasn’t for a podcast, or any other marketers.

It was just me, Rich and Andy.

And they were damn serious! So serious in fact that I started to wonder how the competition was ever going to be able to keep up with these guys because of one simple fact that most people would never know…

These Guys Care Too Damn Much!

I’m not kidding.

If cash was the main motivator for these guys, they’d just sell more slots into their membership. But they don’t do that over and over again. They space it out and make sure all their systems are in place and their staffs can handle the workload and the new members.

They keep trying to make it better, and better, and better.

How else do you keep people paying $800 a month for Stomper?

Anyhow, during this long conversation my perception of Andy Jenkins & Rich Schefren really changed.

I realized that while these guys do make millions of dollars and focuses on helping businesses get to ridiculous levels of success, they are also very intent on helping the new guy (or gal) in marketing.

And I’m not saying this to try and earn an affiliate commission from you.

I could really care less.

There are 18,000 other affiliates you could take this free offer from right now. I know that.

So therefore, I’m not going to join the pissing contest that many of these people stoop to every time there is a marketing launch.

I simply wanted to tell you about this conversation and philosophy I happened to overhear between Andy and Rich.

It’s totally real, honest, and I wouldn’t of believed it had I not of been there myself.

Anyhow,

This deal is absolutely ridiculous in terms of value and each of these guru’s trying to top the next is getting ridiculous.

All this “Moving The Free Line” stuff is really forcing people to step up.

Hopefully you step up to the plate too and use this for massive business growth.

Grab the stuff from the Stomper Guys by visiting my link here…

http://www.jasonmoffatt.com/insanefreebie/

Ciao

Jason

Red Hot Chili Peppers “Charlie” Video Contest

I really dig contests. It gives people a chance to display their talents, and because something is often “on the line”, more dedication goes into the entry in order to “win”!

A while back the Red Hot Chili Peppers ran a video contest for the song “Charlie” from their album Stadium Arcadium. The winning video got to be the official video for the song If the band choose your video as the winner.

Prize: $5,000 and a trip to meet the band at their show in Paris.

Anthony Keidis explains here…

And here is the winning video.

I thought the video was clever, fun, and really represented diversity quite well. All in all I thought it was a groovy video. It would be sweet to see the other submissions too. Hmm, maybe they are floating around Youtube.

Anyhow, contests are a really cool thing. You’d be amazed at the results it can bring to your business, band, or whatever. Bottom line, contests rule!
