Is Web 2.0 A Scam? Vegetarian Dishes Out The Truth In “The Meat Report”.

jason moffatt's meat report

Hey there friends,

This post is sure to stir a few feathers as I have hundreds of friends trying to make money with web2.0 right now. Also, I have a dozen other friends marketing web2.0 materials as well.

However, I’m convinced that 95% or more are doing it totally wrong and completely wasting their time. Yep, I said it… Web2.0 is a WASTE OF TIME for the majority of people.

Now I will admit I do know a few smart ninjas that are using it to their advantage brilliantly. But the the majority of people are running around like mad lab rats, spamming the internet, and have no clue about the 1 major skill that is needed online.

You see, you can have all the traffic in the world, but if you are a shitty salesman you’re screwed. No amount of traffic, links, or social bookmarks are going to do jack shit for you if your offers are not compelling.

Now listen, when I wrote this “Meat Report” it was not intended for internet newbies. I know there are tons of people just trying to get their whistle wet and make their first few bucks online. That’s fine. Do whatever you gotta do to make a few bucks.

But for those that are serious about making tons of cash online, I’m here to tell you… “You are wasting your time with Web2.0 massively”.

And my explanation makes perfect sense for those that sit down and listen to the message.

You see…

I learned right away from master salesman like John Carlton, Gary Halbert, and Frank Kern that the most important thing you could ever posses online is the skill of being a “Master Salesman”. Sadly, most internet marketing newbies just forget all about this step and think they can succeed.

Listen, if you can’t craft compelling sales messages you have a few options…

1. Learn (My upcoming Easy Video Sales will teach you)

2. Hire someone (The good guys don’t come cheap. I charge minimum $5000 for a salesletter and you’d be damn lucky if you got that price.)

3. Go get a real job.

Seriously, if you can’t write copy online you are toast. Every thing you do online is copy. Your emails are copy, your blog posts are copy, and your forum posts are copy.

Sadly most people wade in the pool of mediocrity. And unless you decide to get off your ass and start swimming in the deep end, you’ll always be a follower, chaser, and pipe dreamer. The real cash is made by movers, shakers, and master salesman… Not people screwing off with the latest fads like Web2.0.

Wanna know why Web2.0 is a waste of time for most people?

Cheers,

Jason

PS: Would love to hear your feedback on your web2.0 efforts and whether or not you are really getting maximum value or not. Just maybe you are in that small 5%.

  1. I completely agree with you. What I do is use web2.0 sites to build backlinks to my main site.

Through experience, I bought an old domain (10 years old) and it ranks just as well as a web2.0 site.
I plan on setting up a subdomain blog type thing going (again – user submit content to my site)

    Great vid.

  2. Didn’t know you were vegetarian – I’m vegan. Cool.

I agree with you 100%. I think Web 2.0 is great for building backlinks (from high PR sites), but it’s a LOT faster (and easier, in my opinion) to pay for traffic using Adwords.

You can test a market or idea much faster using Adwords than trying to get ranking via Web 2.0 methods. Too many people are focused on “not spending money” (AKA 30 Day Challenge) instead of focused on “How Can I Get the Most Sales as Quickly and Effectively as Possible? – Even If That Means I Have to Spend Some Money.”

  3. Chris,

Yeah, I’ve been split testing diets for about 12 years now. Did the vegan thing for a few years, and will probably get back there soon.

I agree, I love Adwords. It’s the best in my opinion.

However, not everyone has money. And I’m sure that’s why Ed made the rule of spending no money.

Personally I think it holds people back, but if it’s advertised as 100% free, then I guess 100% needs to be free. Sometimes I think free will cost you time and money though.

But most of those people are super newbies. Just doing anything at all is beyond what 90% of people will do.

But my video was not intended for newbie 30 day challengers. I’m talking about marketers trying to make serious money.

    Let’s share a carrot someday!

    Jason

Oleg, Dylan, Tom, Carson, thx guys!

    Peace

  4. Good video Jason.

Agree on the time wasting 2.0 can be. It really is not that hard to find others to do the work for you, CHEAP too.

Cool idea with the ninja link. Reminds me of when I was a kid searching Highlights Magazines for hidden pictures. No attention-span to read then but damn it was fun searching for random crap.

  5. Hey Jason!

Great “hard hitting” and thought provoking video. Like your style. LOL

The Web 2.0 thing is not that big a deal to me, though. But like you said, if you’re gonna do it … outsource it a bit. I’m lousy at outsourcing and I’m sure I leave money on the table because of that but hey … I’m kool woth that. heh heh

    Thanx for the vid!

  6. Jason,

I totally agree with you 100%. I’m a big fan of using these sites, but again they are ONLY part of my traffic generation system.

I use it to get great links and search traffic, but BAM any day the site can be shut down.

“Shouldn’t be fucking around…” hahah love it.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  7. That’s a great idea! I’m going to put that on one of my sites.

I think a heatmap would be pretty cool to see. Crazyegg it.

  8. Great video man!

You know, every person I know making a killing
online (like 500K+ a year) does it the old
    fashioned way.

Buying ads, outsourcing staff to do remedial work,
    and checking the numbers.

The best part about this age old system, is if the
bottom falls out (i.e. Google slapping your adwords
campaign), there are always other avenues
    that you can use.

(It took me 2 years to learn that PPC is a tiny
    market in promoting your shit).

Once you’ve done the hard work testing a
good ad, and making converting copy for an ad
based medium, you now have a profitable
    business built around ad selling.

And ads aren’t going anywhere… who cares if
it’s adsense, banners, email drops, CPA, PPC,
    print ads, coreg, etc…

It’s about building a badass business.

Free money is great, and I’m not saying people
shouldn’t try and obtain that… but in my book
it’s always secondary to paid sales.

Now, one day maybe the dynamics will change,
and I’ll end up eating my words.

But I would hate to know I’m spending all my
working hours building a business based around
Google’s search algorithm. (That they change
    daily!).

  9. Great video, Jason! I sincerely appreciate it! It’s funny, so many of us become entrepreneurs in large part to avoid ‘working for the man’. But getting caught up too heavily in some of the Web 2.0 applications, kind of just returns us right back to that spot, eh?
Graham Hamer used the ninja link strategy about five years ago, but, only after you’ve bought into his membership site. As a complete and total newbie, it surely made me feel special, though! So what a great trick to warm up a prospect – make ’em feel special before they buy! Love it!
    Thanks again, Jason!

  10. Good work Jason.

Important points made in your unique style!

Too many people are getting poor advice in this IM field so it`s good to see you talking straight about the reality.

Like I always say – learn to sell, Traffic is secondary.

  11. J-Mo,

One of the best videos you’ve ever done.

    The meat was THICK.

One month- not too far in the past- I spent
an hour or two every night- and 249 dollars
a month membership to build squidoo pages.

And one day- I wake up and had lost it all.

The part that pissed me off the most-

    all the wasted time.

    Again- great stuff!

And you’re right- your ninja tactic has
    never failed to deliver…

    Trey

  12. Damn you Jason!

Why the heck did you have to tell the world about the Secret Ninja Link?!!

I use it religiously and it works like GOLD!

A flood of sales always come in when the Ninja Link goes into action.

Great report, great content, and keep up the good work!

    JD

  13. Sorry, I’m late to this post. Still working through Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge. I’m 1/2 way through the video’s and keyword research. So is it all crap? Will it benefit ED and DAN more so in the long run or is there some good info in there?

    Dbuck

  14. DBuck,

Ed and Dan are not charging you anything so I fail to see how you participating in the challenge is really helping them.

Everything they’ve done in the 30 Day Challenge was totally free.

And if you paid attention I mentioned that newbies just trying to get their feet wet can benefit greatly from web2.0 type sites. I sure did when I started, and still do today.

My point was that a very small amount of people actually learn to really parlay the true power of web2.0 and remain the sheep the entire time instead of becoming innovators.

    Take care

    Jason

  15. Jason,

I’m a total newbie but I liked the ideas in your video report. Interesting stuff. I will find some ways to apply your ideas, especially the Web 2.0 ideas.

    Thanks for sharing

    Andrew

  16. Totally kick ass content. 🙂

Jeff Dedrick taught me about outsourcing and now I have a teams that are dedicated to certain parts of my business.

My traffic team is my favorite team to pay. Without traffic (that converts) you’re screwed.

Anyway, awesome stuff… Keep the meat coming…

    Liz Tomey

  17. Hi Jason, I don’t have the time or the means to listen to your report, I view my email at work and I can’t play the video on loud, I currently don’t have a earphone. Is the information available in wriiten format.

  18. You’re video SPOOKED ME half way through!

You kept saying my name as an example — Jonathan…Jonathan…Jonathan…

    Anyway…

That’s some MEATY STUFF you were sharing!!! I really appreciate the ninja-link idea. And, your idea on controlling the plat-form BUT (i guess i don’t understand) does that mean setting up a website … like a blog or something???

    GO CHARGERS!
