My First Video Cast..Please Santa, Bring Me a Macintosh

Hi Friends….

Well I did it!!! Sort of.

Check out my first attempt at videocasting….

I’ve been attempting to create a video podcast, yet only have
limited tools to do so. I’m not sure how this is going to pan
out, and sadly I think Mac users won’t be able to view it, (not sure).

It’s recorded in a .wmv file, which can be viewed with
windows media player. I’m not sure if it can be viewed
in another player?

Any feedback would be great. Such as
1. Did it take long to load
2. What media player are you watching it in
3. How I can get this played in Quicktime

I’m trying to figure out how to get the video’s into avi, or mpeg
so that it can be viewed be more people.

This was done using a digital video camera. I have attempted
to use my digital canon camera that has a video function, but
don’t know where to upload the video.

I sure can’t wait for Ultra Underachieving to start. This video stuff
is gonna be a blast….

    Hey Jason,

Not bad for a first try. I’m on pc and it opened in win amp in about 5 seconds. I haven’t read through your whole blog to check for the answer to this, but where do you live? Do you live there year around. It has to be the polar opposite of where I am in The Valley of Los Angeles. But that’s what’s so sweet about working on the computer. You can do it from anywhere in the world.

    Stay cool.

    Cameron

p.s. So wish I could afford the Ultra Underachieving. Actually, I really need to find a way cuz I think those that do it, will be on their way to making some nice coin in 2006.

    Hey J-MO!

Great first vid! I’m on an iMac G5 w/Windows Media Player and it played right away – and flawlessly.

Also, I tried to send you a pretty large file, but I’m guessing your yahoo account said “nope.”
Do you have another account I can send it to? (2.7 MB file)

    Merry Christmas!
    Randy

    Yo Randy,

I got that Neil Diamond Xmas thing from ya…Thanks
for reminding me. I downloaded but didn’t listen yet.

    I’ll push play right now.

Wow, so is that you doing an impression of Neil? Or is
    that really the man?

I’m not really a Neil Diamond fan, (Love Neil Young though)
but the quality was great. Nice stuff, thanx for sharing.

    Jason:

Purchase Quicktime Pro….you should be able to save .avi files into Quicktime with all the good encoding.

    Cheers,

    Thanks folks,

Tony I did purchase Quicktime Pro, but am unsure how
to record the files. You can only record video on a
    Mac it appears with Quicktime.
