Panoramic Photos With The Pano App For The iPhone.

I just came across this really cool iPhone app called Pano. It’s created by Debacle software and what it does is simply stunning.

Pano panoramic iphone appPano merges multiple photos into one panoramic photo. You can see an example that I took in my office living room and loaded to TwitPic by clicking here.

That image was actually 5 separate pictures meshed into one. I was shocked to see the quality come out so well, especially since I took 3 different shots that have the TV in view. Somehow Pano was smart enough to only focus on one of those images and still merged the rest into one good looking pic.

Anyhow, it’s only $2.99 in the applications store on your iPhone. It’s super simple to use and a hell of a buy if you are a iPhone user. I can’t wait to experiment with it a bit more. Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if you tried to do a 360 degree photo?

Dude, this is way to awesome. Is there anything the iphone doesn’t do? Ok, I could think of a few things, but I have other, um, tools for that…

    Hey Jorge,

I had no idea they were going to include video on the new version of the iPhone. That is going to be huge. I wonder what kind of rules they’ll have in place for a upgrade?

Awesome App! I know folks in real estate that used to pay hundreds to have their properties photographed like that.

As far as the upgrade on a new version of the iPhone, my guess is the requirements are going to be dependent on your carrier.

I’ve been with good old AT&T now for nearly 20 years and had as many as 15 lines at once (don’t ask)…but I guarantee you they will still hit me with a fee to “break my contract” so I can upgrade if the new phone comes out before my existing contract is up.

I’ve always been amazed that we put up with that crap…”Yes, Mr./Ms. customer, we value your business, and we certainly want to take more of your money right now, upgrade your equipment and lock you into a longer contract, but before we can, you’ll just have to give us some up front money…or, you can just pay us tons of money right now and not be in a contract…it’s your choice. You can pay lots now and more later, or just pay lots more now.”

I think they call that getting you “coming and going.”

Amazing. But what’s more amazing is the fact that I and countless others will pay it.

    Be Well!

    This is wickedly cool.

I have the panorama feature on my old sony ericsson k800i. But since I’m changing to iPhone 3G soon, thanks for the heads up.
