Totally with you Jason,

The dream for so many *is* total bullshit. Got money...then what?

There was a twitter post on Eben's flicker, showing what looked like a badly played tetris game of what a weekly schedule looks like for him. Admittedly with a 25Million a year business there is lots of stuff he has to do. I'd like to think that this is just a phase, you reach some point in money and then can relax. But I have multi-millionare friends who are twice his age...they have similar schedules, and similar unrest. In some ways it's worse than when they didn't have money as that is easy to scale, they can't scale themselves, they can't scale time. Love, Family and life are preciously finite resources.

I'm actually NOT sustaining myself with automated income online yet (going for big fish) and working hard...but I integrate play every day...this is the secret to how I'm actually able to work so hard in spurts (including 20 hr days at times). I actually work just as hard if not hard er than I did when in my normal jobs, except it's far more rewarding and doesn't feel like work.

In fact every day feels like Saturday. I work when passionate, sleep when tired, hit matinees, jam on the guitar, tinker around the house, and make sure the guiness and baileys is cold. I explore freedom and play *EVERY* day.

But I wasn't always like this, I too understand the allure of control, new businesses, big money...all seductive. Not sure if these will help but these strategies helped me be clear (as well as Frank's Core Influence) across some difficult decisions.

P.S. While I didn't sign up, I got a kick out of the conversion letter for RFM, 19% conversion is kick ass. It's clearly though about the dog and cartoon captions.

Hey Jason, I think you're right on with this. And I am looking forward to the day when we're set up and making good income so that me and my sweetheart can have a lot of wonderful time off. We will not be workaholics, that's for sure. For now we aren't there yet...but we're taking the necessary steps with your great help--and we will be!

Thanks.

Fair enough Jack. I did make a offer to the buyers on my list to buy the RFM stuff without a sales letter or video. Amazingly, it converted at 19% without even telling the people exactly what it was.

I opened it up because of people just like yourselves who wanted it NOW and didn't want to wait. They already knew they wanted the materials and I let them in. So I get where you are coming from, and that's why I did that.

If you are that interested in getting inside now, simply send me a email and I'll give you that opportunity.

Cheers

Hi Jason,

Your message makes sense. But to the extent you're open to a little bit of constructive criticism, here it is:

You're largely addressing an audience of people (like me) who know enough about Internet Marketing to be able to consistently make some money, but not enough to just blow off the summer for surfing and having fun.

While I really appreciate the message you're giving, it also leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. You give people the hope that you'll share useful information with them (RFM thing) and then nothing happens. Would I still buy into RFM when if finally comes out? I'd be open to it for sure because I do respect you and in some ways admire your success.

But man, it kind of just feels like you're telling people like me who are struggling to reach that minimum level of income necessary to support oneself to "screw off" more when in reality we're probably at the stage where we need some serious guidance to grow what we've achieved into something more reliable and robust.

Remember, you're already very successful. And like you said in the video, people who are super successful SHOULD take time to actually enjoy their success. But tantalizing people with the hope that you'll show them how you do what you do and then dragging your feet and blowing it off to go surfing just seems sort of rude. I know you're under no obligation, etc, but come on... at least don't pre-announce stuff months in advance and then in a very visible way blow it off to go surfing.

You might not have to worry about how to pay the bills, but there are a lot of us who look up to you for guidance who can't really afford to spend the whole summer slacking off. A little bit of sensitivity would be appreciated! :-)

The new blog design is the dog's b*ll*cks, man ...

Nuff respect to the designer.

It's hard sometimes for us full-time IMers to take a time out more than once in a while, cos we remember what it was like when we were hustling to make the money to enable us to actually have the "slacker" lifestyle ... that we -um - forget to enjoy ... :)

You just keep chillin, never illin' and come back when you're darn good and ready ...
