Why I Left Millions On The Table

Some of my friends think I’m a lunatic for my recent actions. Others that know me a bit closer understand why I make the moves I do.

Good Times At Disneyland!
Good Times At Disneyland!
The truth is, I make the majority of my decisions in life depending on how much fun is likely to result from that action. I’m way more concerned about having a good time than just about anything else. And it shows on my Facebook wall, in my Gratitude Diary, and in my every day life. If a particular task or job does not bring some level of enjoyment to me, I usually quit right away.

Case in point would be a few recent projects I was a part of online. These projects brought in more money in less than 30 days than I had ever experienced making in an entire year. But there was a big problem. I wasn’t having any fun doing it.

Despite the fact that tens of thousands of dollars were rolling in on any given day, I loathed the idea of selling more high priced products that I knew lazy pipe dreamers would never do anything with. It sucked. So I quit, and walked away from millions of nearly guaranteed dollars to instead screw off in Hollywood with my friends.

Was this a smart move? Financially it was borderline moronic. Spiritually, it was the only move I can see myself doing.

The cold hard truth is, I’d rather make $500 a day doing things I thoroughly enjoy over making $5000 a day doing something that brings me no joy. I’m just not very motivated by money. Sure, I do enjoy money and all the things it provides, but it’s not a big driving force in my life. I’m more concerned about things like friendships, playfulness, and new experiences that push me to grow.

Here’s where things get really good…

Even though I’ve forfeited a almost certain chance at making millions upon millions of dollars, I’ve actually made the most profitable decision overall. You see, I’m in this internet game for the long haul. I have a name and a brand to protect. I estimate my brand to be worth an easy $20,000,000 at least. I don’t have financial proof to back up that statement at this point, but in my heart I know my true value and what I bring to the table.

Just because I’ve sacrificed one money making opportunity does not mean there won’t be another right around the corner (trust me, there are more than I can count sitting right in front of my eyes right now). And by sacrificing certain projects and businesses I’ve actually opened the flood gates to a tidal wave of new opportunities.

Sometimes when you let go, you become the recipient of so much more. And this has been my experience way beyond just business.

Even though I had deep sorrows from recently separating from the girl that I loved with all my soul, left a business that was about to make me filthy rich, and dropped all kinds of personal attachments I had been clinging on to, this has been the greatest month of my entire life.

Why?

Because to me there are obvious rights and wrongs in life. And when a particular experience is not bringing out the very best in me, I know it’s time to move on in search of my core self and to find my true path.

So that’s what I’ve done in multiple avenues of my life. And the excitement couldn’t be any higher for me at the moment. I’m so pumped about what the future brings, and am entirely open to the new experiences that will teach me to better serve, connect and engage with others.

There’s one new project in particular that I’m ultra hyped about and I’d like to invite you to join me in exploring the fun and overwhelming profit potential in this field.

I’m talking about making apps for iPhones!

I have a handful of buddies that are making really good money doing what they love… MAKING GAMES and SIMPLE FUN APPS! Well, let me clarify that. They don’t actually make anything. They just come up with the ideas, and outsource others to create the games and apps for them.

Once I saw this model, I flipped out. “I WANT TO DO THAT”… I screamed. And that is exactly what I’ve started to do. The reason I’m so pumped is because this business model is easy, matches my core values, and is super fun! That’s what I’m talking about.

Right now my team is working on a app that will help raise a ton of money for drug abuse prevention and educate people about the horrendous affects of some toxic substances out there.

It’s truly serving people in a way that makes me feel great. And raises money for charity, and will even put honest and admirable money in my pocket. We’re talking win/win/win/win scenarios here.

Anyhow, I really would love for you to come join me and my buddy Trey Smith on July 5th as we discuss this new business model in further detail. We’ll share with you an opportunity I believe is the wave of the future and has me so excited I don’t even care about the fact I’ve left millions on the table in my last internet venture. This is going to be way more fulfilling.

So here’s the details… (MARK THIS DOWN)

July 5th, 5:00 PST (8:00 East Coast Time)

Sign up for the webinar by going to… https://jasonmoffatt.com/apps/

Plan on being on the call for about 2 hours and we’ll explain the whole model with you. I promise you’ll be excited about what you see (especially when you see the dumb app that has been making over $8000 a day. Seriously, it’s so incredibly easy)

ATTENTION: FREE GIVEAWAY!

On the call we’ll be giving away an iPad 2 to a lucky winner just for being on the call. All you have to do is show up.

  1. It’s awesome to see that you’re focusing on you and not on the money. I’ve been going through a similar transition in my life (although I haven’t left millions on the table) and have found that it’s becoming more rewarding emotionally to me.

I know you’ll positively influence a lot of peoples lives with this new direction you’re taking and would love to help out in any way I could.

I signed up for the webinar and am definitely curious to see how this is done!

    Thanks!

  2. Right on buddy. Yeah, I’m really pumped about the near future (and of course for today!). I really like the idea of finding the happiness and letting the money follow. Means a lot more to me.

    1. Jason,

Watched your mass control presentation 2 weeks ago and thought, this dudes really cool. I like your no BS approach, you hustle and you come off in a very real way. Listened to you on that radio show last week and it was nice to hear that you have remained cool and still come off like someone I could have a beer with a shoot the shit. Sorry to hear about the lady issues.

      Looking forward to Tuesday

      Ryan

  3. Jason, I feel you on this soo much! I have turned down many opportunities because I was not happy. I even dropped a 10k a month deal. Just quit my full time job too. I feel you on this and you are doing the right thing. I have been trying to find my new path to entrepreneurship. Right now my blog is the only thing I care about. Just a cool gateway to release thoughts and stress.

  4. well mate u always seem to write blog posts that I am thinking on simultaneously , moved to hollywood at the same time without having known your move , let go of several million dollar ops, and a few vc ops for same reason and now have 90% of my time now completely free with economic stability to choose joy in my next few things .. as always mate appreciate you and look forward to our calls as always .. cheers

  5. Hi Jason – thanks for sharing this post. I know exactly what you mean; I’ve often wondered why I’ve not been rolling in cashola by now, considering the connections and skills I have, but it comes down to the same thing: I’m more motivated by bringing about transformational change than I am having $$$ in the bank. Now, like you, I like the benefits that money brings (like being able to feed my family :D), but I’ve often wondered in the past why I didn’t chase things that I know could make me bucket loads of greenbacks. I haven’t lost that youthful passion to pursue things of great value; so cool that you’ve tied in your desire for young guys & gals to be drug-free with a love of having fun, and you can have the revenue coming in as well. I know I’m still hunting for that ‘treasure’ in my entrepreneurial journey, but then, that’s an important part of the whole process too. I’ve being following what Trey has been doing over the last 6 months (I’m on his & Frank’s mailing list), so I’ve been seeing how the app bonanza has been panning out. Sounds cool, but I can honestly say that it doesn’t scratch me where I’m itching, even though it would lead to some serious hoildays! Wishing you every success with your partnership with Trey – you two seem like kindred spirits in my books. Dez.

  6. I’m pumped about this seminar. I have a daughter in the special needs community who has exploded in cognitive and communication abilities due to well-designed iPad apps. There is so much more that can be done. I hope some of those who join you will create apps for this niche.

  7. Yeah, I’m with Warren, such a shame about the pitch on the end of the post. Just ain’t authentic to me I’m afraid. You could have done this in two posts and it would have read much better. Trey did this a while ago and it looks great. Fancy the ipad, but don’t have 2 hours to spare 😉
It’s so important to go with your heart and be authentic to yourself in all you say and do. There is an amazing TED talk on this by Brene Brown. Well worth the watching if you have the time.
Yeah Stephanie, I’ve seen ipad apps being used with adults with learning disabilities too. They are fab…. sounds like you’re brilliantly placed to look at this niche 😉

    1. I feel no shame in pitching someone on the idea of listening in to a informative webinar at all. In fact I feel good about it. It’s only a shame if you believe that we shouldn’t be selling valuable things to others. As for saying my post is not authentic, hmmm, well okay. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

      1. AGREED w/JMo on “pitching” his webinar

This IS his business, and just like others go to work to make money or put food on the table or whatever you wanna call it

BIG deal, he poured his heart onto his Blog because he is talking about being a man of morals and that is a HUGE lesson online peeps can take advice from

        good shiz Uncle MoFO!

        –z–

    1. Yes Jim, I parted ways on the List Machine Pro project. It’s actually a phenomenal piece of software for those that use it. In fact, it’s incredible. But it’s Dax’s baby and I decided to pursue things that were nearer to my heart.

  8. Well you know I was worried about you— but I’m glad to have a little more insight as to why you dropped that venture.

You deserve to be happy, to feel good about what you do, AND make your millions.

I’m happy for you. Thanks for sharing,
    Kristin

  9. Dude,
Glad you did what makes you happy.

Something my mum has drummed into my brain since the crib and has stuck with me until today.

Me saying this is nothing more than reiteration to you, myself and the thousands of others out there who will one day read this comment… But when you go for what you love, you wake up at peace.

Your example is perfect and couldn’t agree with you more on the telling people to be on a webinar where they can benefit. That is a win/win right there. Good info + Free webinar training – For others, Jason hasn’t actually charged for this webinar so its fun stuff and you get an ipad 2. (I just won’t be there due to personal reasons – hope it’s recorded though).

I know Dax appreciated your honesty and your decision to do what you felt best.

Hope you keep on healing and keep on moving up bro.

See you at the top 🙂

  10. Hey Mo. Your take on money has always helped me think properly about money, and not think about making more and more. As you know I’m not an internet marketer, and I help musicians. That’s my aim.

Believe it or not I turned down a band in Michigan that I would have made a regular income from, not a lot. I didn’t like their material and where they were taking it. They want money pure and simple. Anyway,I’ll be in on the webinar to learn from you and Trey.

    Take care Mo

    Mark Grove

  11. Good stuff JMo – I do the same, except haven’t been in the million dollar biz yet 🙂

I was in a business that was really bothering me emotionally, f**ed w/my head and I let it go…. Down the road it coulda been BIG but I’ve spent enough time doing things I hate and refuse to go back down that road again!

    –z–

PS: I MISS EZ Video Sales!! ha ha that was THE shiz, homie!!!

  12. Jason,
I LUV the business model…Sorry to say the time is not right for me now 🙁 I have committed my time to other projects. I wish u all the best. Maybe this info will be available in another form later?

  13. I doubt this will get approved but if it does here goes. You are full of shit. You wanna make money just like the rest of us. At least have the balls to man up and say so instead of posting sappy ass stories about how you are changing your life then pitching shit.

  14. Hey Jason,

I wanted you to know that I found this blog post a while back and it was very inspirational for me. I went ahead and shared it on my blog at my Favorite Blogs Friday last week and I wanted to share that with you. You can view it at http://onlinemoneytrip.blogspot.com/2011/11/favorite-blogs-friday-part-8-part-3.html Go ahead and take a peek!

Thanks again for reminding us of what’s really important in life. It’s not money, it’s about enjoying life! 🙂
