Haiti & What You Can Do.

I have to admit, I hate the news. I try to never watch it at all since it’s filled with mostly atrocious stories about death, horror, theft, lies, deceit, etc. Thank god for the sportscasters and weathermen. They are probably the only thing keeping half of America from having a heart attack at 5:00 every day.

Since I avoid the news like the plaque, I don’t get all the gory details about what is going on in Haiti right now. I do however see all the chatter across the internet and it’s obviously horrible what is going on right now.

What else is horrible is the type of emails I’ve gotten from a variety of people on the issue. Scams, high pressure tactics that lack any finesse and more. At times like these it’s hard to know what charity is going to truly benefit the people of Haiti the most.

Anyhow, the best email I saw was one by my friend Bob Serling. He sent this out and I’m going to copy and paste it below. He’s hoping you will help out, and is going to give you a gift for participating.

What makes this plea more legit then those I’ve seen is that he’s going to give you something and isn’t asking for a email, or opt in, or anything like that. He’s just taking your word that you contributed and offering to help you out a little bit.

So, without further ado, here’s the email Bob has asked me to send out. I decided to send a email and do a blog post…

I don’t have to tell you that the earthquake in Haiti is one of the worst disasters we’ve ever seen.

CNN reports that more than 100,000 people are reported dead, there are bodies littering the streets, and countless people are trapped in the rubble in urgent need of being rescued. The situation is dire.

The people of Haiti need our help and they need it NOW.

So here’s what I’d like to do to help. First, I’m making a sizable donation myself to one of the

relief funds listed below.

Second, I’d like to ask you to make a donation too, of any amount. When you do, my friend and marketing expert, Bob Serling, will give you a free copy of one of his most popular and valuable reports ever, “The Marketing Repair Manual”.

I am NOT collecting your name or email address and will not benefit monetarily from this in any way. My only objective is to get as many people as possible to help in the relief effort.

Here’s how this works…

====================================

Step 1: Make your donation to any of these charities

====================================

The following charities have been recommended as exceptional sources of helping in the relief effort. Please click one of these links and make a donation of any amount. And remember, every dollar helps, regardless of how small or how large your contribution

is.

Here are the links to connect directly to these charities and make your donation:

Habitat for Humanity

AmeriCares

IMPORTANT: If clicking any of these links doe not work, please cut and paste them into your browser and they will open up.

====================================

Step 2: Download your free copy of “The Marketing

Repair Manual”

====================================

When Bob first sold this manual for $97, he received the following unsolicited testimonial, which essentially says it all:

“Just read your manual and I’m not only blown away about the amount of information in such a quick, easy-to-read document…but how relevant it is to anybody running a business.

Actually Bob, I’ve read the manual three times in as many days (that’s how easy it is to get through it…and how much information is packed into it). I initially picked it up to get some ideas to improve the sales of my products. I’m now using it to completely rebuild how I’ve been marketing myself.

Bob, I think this manual should be the first thing anyone reads before they head off guns-blazing to do business. It shows exactly how to avoid the mistakes most of us make (or, if you’re like me, how to recover from them now that you realize you’re making them). It will save people that buy it a lot of frustration wondering why my things “don’t work.”

It’s short; not an ounce of fluff, and it contains the blueprints to ensuring your marketing is doing what it’s suppose to — attracting qualified leads that’ll buy your products.

I’ve already used it to ditch an idea I’ve been banging my head against for the last month or so. I read your manual and realized I’ve been barking up the wrong tree. (Heck, not even in the right forest.)  It’s also totally changed how I look at copywriting and many new ideas at attracting my market.

Simply put, it’s your insurance policy against making the mistakes most would make without

it, or are currently making (like me) and want to figure out how to do it right. Thanks for making this available Bob!

– Brett Martinson

So, as you can see, it’s my feeling that this report will become one of the most valuable pieces in your marketing library. And it’s yours free if you’ll make a contribution of any amount to help out in this relief effort.

Once you’ve made your donation, just click the following link to download your free copy. The

only information you’ll be asked to enter is the amount you donated so we can track how much we’ve raised for the relief effort.

http://www.Power8Marketing.com/haiti-relief

You will NOT be asked for your name or email address and you will not be sold anything or

contacted ever based on this. Our only intention is to help relieve the suffering as much as we

can.

Thanks for all your help!

Regards,

Jason Moffatt

  1. Hey JMo,

    Thanks for posting this and getting involved.

    I think what Bob is doing is great, and he has selected very reputable organizations which can provide immediate relief.

    If your readers would like to learn more about Haiti, I’m now streaming my entire documentary “The Road To Fondwa” for free at http://fondwa.org.

    (You can also stream it from here if you like.)

    Keep it up man, thanks.

  2. For those of Religious faith, you can check with your church organization, also. The denomination I belong to is active over there and, in general, a higher percentage of your donation will reach the people in need when donated through your church than it will through a secular organization. 😉

  3. JMO,
    I didnt get to see you when you came to (through)Seattle (Rats!;{), Im always greatful for the time weshare on Facebook :), your Awsome!! Its horrible what happend in Hati and even worse the way some are dealin with, handling & speaking on it. You are one of the few that sent out a really good email, I also got this link from another marketer, It was great for me to be able to rate the different options available to give. If you get some time check it out,

    As usual, your the best..Sidra

  4. Thanks JMo, I knew you were going to post some good info… must have been why I waited to make a donation. thanks again!!!

  5. I love the sheer amount of contribution people are moved to make with this tragedy.

    Though money is very needed, there are also other ways to help. Meditating and visualizing can be a huge support to amplify the effectiveness of the healing and recovery efforts.

    I’ve posted a Healing Haiti Meditation on my blog if anyone is inspired to add it into their donation efforts. It’s a great way to feel empowered in your own self as well.

  6. I attended my church’s Saturday evening service – we collectively pledged to give whatever we could afford – from the heart – there are 10’s of thousands(perhaps 100,000 or more) on the streets of Port-au-prince without food and water(help is on the way here) – my bills are paid for the rest of January and I have enough food in the house for a month or more – probably 2 months if I eat a Restricted Calorie Diet – so I have decided to donate all the money I would normally spend on groceries and household for the next month – also will walk around town as much as I can and donate the gas money I save –
    the situation in Haiti is grave – A Dallas orthopedic surgeon and 30+ other surgeons flew a private jet into Haiti last evening – they are prepared to do MAJOR SURGERY on the streets because there are NO Hospital facilities available – plus – you won’t hear or see this in the news – all of the 4000 jailed prisoners are on the streets(if they survived) – raping, pillaging, killing – please give with your heart – I came home from church thinking how blessed I am for running water filtered for drinking, bathroom facilities, a roof over my head, a comfotable bed to sleep in, food for a month in the house – the Haitians have NOTHING !
