Marketing Monday – Doubling Up During The Holidays

Here’s a quick tip you can use to double your money during the holiday season. I can’t promise it’ll make you rich, but it’s a method that is solid and it works as I proved today.

I created this video for people that are willing to hustle, and maybe need a few bucks to keep the lights on, pay the cable bill or just make a few ends each day. Enjoy.

PS: Deb gave me a great idea from her reply in the comments below. What if you provided “wrapping” and “delivering” services for the items as well? Quickly a $10 investment could turn into $40 or $50 if you found someone who didn’t have the time or energy to go shopping for themselves.

Brilliant! Packaging can make all the difference. You could put red and green stringy paper, even snowflakes. The more creative the more costly.

    • Yeah, no doubt. You just gave me a couple ideas. You could also sell wrapping services as well. Heck, between buying the toys, wrapping, labeling and delivering to their house you could multiply your investment about 5 times!

This is a great idea indeed. Last year, I saw some stat that said like 38% of guys would rather have someone else do their holiday shopping for them.

There’s definitely a need for it!

Thanks for making a video about this J-Mo.

Why doesn’t the UK go to craigslist as much haha.

But the thought process behind it totally works.

    Thanks again bro.

    • It may be an advantage if there isn’t a lot of people on Craigslist in your area. I remember 6 years ago when Craigslist wasn’t so crowded and it was way easier to get response then it is now with a ton of people driving your ad off the first page in a matter of minutes.

How do you deliver the toys to the customer?
Are you using one shopping cart or click bank as a way of collecting their money?
Are you adding shipping to the price they pay to get them delivered?

    • BC,

If selling via Craigslist you would most likely deliver by driving your car to their house, or have them visit you. Think locally as this is a local strategy.

If there was more time before Christmas eBay would of worked as well and you could ship the items and have the buyer pay the shipping.

Payment should be cash locally, and Paypal via eBay.

Hey pretty cool bro. Yeah holidays are for giving and not worrying about receiving, so this is a good idea. There are so many good ideas like this to make money during holidays that if you think about it, you can make some coin too. This guy in my neighborhood put an ad on CL for xmas light hanging…and he is making a killing. It’s a little laborious for the average Joe, but he is pulling in serious cash this month.

  • ilyse says:

Where would be the best place to list this ad? I was thinking Community – Child Care (more targeted)

You could target PETS 99 cent stores have a lot of Pet stuff too, that may be popular as well list under Services – Pet, the ad could even encourage getting a gift “from your dog to one of their play mates”.

    Great Idea! Thanks!

  • Saving someone “time” is they key.. This is BRILLIANT… No excuses not to make enough money to live!!! Great tip! Brian-

  • Jay says:

Wow Jason that kicks BUTT! Hello people, what is this, a WSO! Hint hint. Put your own spin on it and turn J-Mo’s idea into thousands very quickly…

  • mark says:

    Friggin Fantastic Craigslist idea Mo!!

I’m going to use your ad and twist the words around on your ad to suit my market, which is musicians.

  • Jason, this is a great idea! Being creative make a big difference. Makes me think about my creativeness, which seems to sleep for the time being. But maybe you woke it up. Thank you!

  • mark grove says:

Your idea worked, but not for stuff I was selling musicians. it worked for selling toys. I’m going to sell other stuff as well. Thanks again Mo.
