How To Delete Applications From Facebook

Good news you'll get your own email on Facebook, how to delete applications from Facebook, receivegoodnews

While watching the St. Louis Rams getting their asses pounded against the Kansas City Chiefs this morning I was dicking around on Facebook. What’s new?

I saw my buddy Rob Burns sign up for a Facebook application that claimed you could claim youremail@Facebook.com. At first I thought it was a scam, but seeing that Rob had already went through with the process I figured it was legit. Not wanting to miss out on a sweet vanity email, I too clicked the link on the app and gave it permission to post to my wall and access my Facebook information.

BAD MOVE.

The name of the app was receivegoodnews, or Good news you’ll get your own email on Facebook.

Whatever you do, don’t fall for it. It’s a CPA or affiliate marketing scam that will redirect you to some gaming site. The video below shows the application in question and will also show you how to delete any unwanted applications from your Facebook account. You may want to follow along in this 2 minute video even if you haven’t recently allowed access to any apps, because a few may have slipped by you in the past.

I hope this helps, and feel free to share with anyone you think may have been subjected to app spam on Facebook.

Cheers,

Jason

PS: I’m really confused why Facebook would even allow these type of apps? Any ideas?

  1. I was got by that same ‘get your email’ thing earlier myself.

I’ve heard that facebook are coming out with an email program so I thought that this was it.

    Cheers for the removal tip.

      1. Hhmm, don’t know anything about facebook apps, but I’ve heard of people getting facebook ads approved then changing them to something that wouldn’t have been approved afterwards, maybe that’s also possible with apps. No idea.

        1. I reckon that’s what has to be happening. No way Facebook can be cool with this. I guess it’s like the ole Adwords Switcheroo.

  2. Jason,

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to get a sneak peak of your very intelligent girl friend. You look so healthy and happy now. I just wanted to meet the very special woman in your life because I think she probably has a lot to do with it!

Best wishes to you both for a Happy Healthy Holiday Season!
