Craigslist.com, jason moffatt, Lucky's, Mary J, on the road again, rv, stand up paddle boarding, West Hollywood, World Series

I’d say it’s time to cue “On The Road Again” but I don’t really have any plans to do any significant traveling at the moment. Instead, I’m hunkered down near the lake and working on a bunch of projects from inside the RV.

I love being in this RV. Her name is Mary J, and she’s a gem. Last night I drug the cable wire in through the window and caught the last 5 innings of the World Series while lounging on the couch and petting my dog Webber. What a game!

My stint in West Hollywood lasted about 7 months, and it was good. I met a ton of great people, got to perform some comedy, ate like a culinary champion and experienced the worst traffic snarls known to man. I won’t miss the latter at all. It’s time for a new chapter and I’m really pumped about it.

Last week I either gave away or sold about 70 items on Craigslist.com and seriously downsized my belongings. I don’t know why I always end up accumulating so much stuff, then just give it away. I’m weird like that. However, it feels very liberating to lighten the load at times. I don’t need the majority of that stuff anyhow. Who really needs 12 guitars? Not I. I’ll stick with my Strat, the Taylor acoustic, The Warwick Bass and the always fun Ukulele.

I’m thinking about purchasing a stand up paddle surfboard and riding that baby on the lake each morning. I really need to work on my core strength to support my lower back issues in my L2 vertebrae. I have a feeling SUP-ing around the lake will be perfect for that and help me get back into the water for some surfing. Boy oh boy do I miss surfing. I really need to get back in the water asap.

Fishing in a kayak sort of sounds fun too. Maybe I’ll give that a try. A boom box with some country tunes, a cooler of cold beer and some good ol sunshine on the noggin while paddling around the lake sounds like a groovy time to this kid.

Anyhow, I’m just thinking out loud and letting y’all know what I’m up to. This blog should get a lot more posts in the near future, but I always say that every few months and then slack off. So we’ll see if that really happens. It so easy to get distracted by social media sites like Facebook, Google +, Twitter etc and abandon our own web properties which I think is a dumb move. I love Facebook as much as the next person, but all the time and effort on there doesn’t do much to build your own site and establish more pages in the search engines. So I’m making it a priority to focus on my own site instead of folks like Zuckerbergs.

So wish me luck, and please do come back and read often. I got a few tricks up my sleeve that have been in the works for a long time and they are WAY OVERDUE.

Love, Peace and Bicycle Grease!

Jason

PS: Speaking of bicycles, I’m about to grab my fancy Jeep bike off the back of Mary J and give her a good spin down to the local pub called Lucky’s. It looks like a super dive. Just my kind of joint.

  1. Great to read your email about taking imitative and living your life now instead of planning for it tomorrow!

Always appreciate you sharing your thoughts – particularly agree with the wisdom in this post where you mention the importance of investing in your own web property instead of building the online assets of the social media monsters!

Looking forward to learning the thing you consistently heard people say over and over again as you’ve been touring around the country!

  2. Thanks for the email Jason. You always keep it real and give some awesome advice. You are the only internet marketer that I have come across that does not pitch me a product in every single email and I greatly respect that.

I have purposely signed up to many marketers email lists to study there strategies and see how they write in their emails and I am pitched products on a daily basis.

I am smart enough not buy 99.9% of these products and it is great to actually get an email that doesn’t have an affiliate offer in it and provides true life value.

I am definitely buying into the likeablility factor you are always talking about in regards to internet marketing, and once I figure out how to build my own list, I will definitely model my email marketing based on that factor.

  3. Hi Jason,
I read your post and I know what you are going through with your back. Go to my website and get yourself this seat cushion, that you can put in the drivers seat or the back when you are working. You will absolutely love it. I give you a 100% money back guarantee. The shoe inserts are also awesome.
    Thanks,
    Gerhard

  4. Dude,
Got your e-mail and read your post. Just thought I’d let you know as one of those people who gets what you are talking about how it’s going. I met you in San Diego. That house you came over to once I sold. And most of the things in it as well as my dog training business.

Moved to the Big Island, Hawaii. It has been a dream. So I did it. Stoked. Great thing to do. And starting everything from a different Aloha viewpoint is awesome.

The dogs came with us. They are stoked too!

Stand up paddle…. I do it most days. I get to see lots of cool ocean things while paddling. Dolphins lots of times. I jump off the board and swim with them. That rocks. SUP is great for core strength and lower back. Get your paddle way out in front of you, keep it parallel with the rail of your board and take it out at your hip. You’ll love it!

I built some new real estate on the web too I’m in love with. And I’ve cured my addiction with FB.

You’re a role model Dude. People love your shit. Keep doin it… as I have no doubt you will. You can’t help it.

    Aloha Wags!

Down the road, that’s where I’ll always be.
Every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can’t stay for long, just turn around and I’m gone again

Maybe tomorrow, I’ll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I’ll just keep moving on”

Big Man Luv to you and Mary J

  6. Hey Jason,

Last weekend I hiked a couple of miles up a mountain to spend some time at my favorite waterfall. The sun was shining through the mist and the scarlet maple leaves. There’s just something so therapeutic about getting rejuvenated by water.

The next day I hiked a couple of miles up a different mountain that has a 360 degree panoramic view of several states. The autumn foliage was at it’s peak. The energy from the mountains and the breezes blowing across your face with the last 80 degree sunny days of the season will have to last until the next flight to some tropical destination to escape from the winter blahs.

Squeezing every drop of pleasure we can, each and every day, from nature and beauty, and experiencing solitude from the noise and crowds and stresses of life renew us and give us the inspiration and energy we need to create and launch new projects.

Happy to hear that Webber, Mary J, and you are enjoying some quality time together.

    Enjoy!

    Jazmin
