Jack Johnson – Upside Down (Groovy Tune & Video)

Every so often I like to share a bit of music on the blog.  I’m pretty picky about the type of music I’ll listen to nowadays though.

Anything to aggressive, loud, or violent hip hop just wrecks my chill vibe.  In fact, playing Grand Theft Auto 4 last night had me feeling all shitty.  I mean it was pretty cool to run over a bunch of grandma’s in my Camaro, and ditch Michelle on our date, and run over cop cars with a dump truck, but after a hour of that I was sitting there feeling pretty empty.

In fact, I felt like crap.

So, I plugged in a little Jack Johnson and instantly felt better.  I love tunes that make you feel groovy.  So, speaking of groovy tunes, here’s one…  (What kinda tunes do you like to listen to when you want to lift your spirits?)

Thanks for the share. Since before your first Jason.tv show I was wondering what kind of music was playing in the background.

I love all the good club hits, Sean Kingston – Take You There for example

You can’t go wrong with Jack. I also like Ben Harper, JJ Grey & Mofro, and even a little Jason Mraz when I need a groove.

Music can influence our mood more than we think. Relaxing stuff is great, when I need to chill I pop in a little Reggae, do you listen to Bob Marley Jason?

I love Jack Johnson too – saw him in concert a couple of year’s back – perfect driving to the beach on a sunny day music (of course in the UK we have fewer opportunities for that than you…much fewer). Also like Matt Costa who supported him on that tour. Can’t beat classics like The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Other good chill-out music includes Massive Attack, and Morcheeba. And, many people can’t stand Country Music but one of my favourite songs for making me feel good and getting my head in a better place is Dierks Bentley – Free and Easy.

Yah Jack Johnson music can always lift your spirits.

Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley are always good.

“Realize” by Colbie Caillat is a good tune to chill with.

    Yo dude,

I am a HUGE fan of Jack.

Have you heard of Jason Mraz? Very similar to Jack… almost a cross between Jack and Dave Matthews… it’s good stuff.

    Talk with you soon,

    Ryan

I love a little a little blues when I’m feeling crappy
and someone who being uncool was offended by
my telling them to leverage time by hiring out.

You had to be there. I’m a writer for an LA based
blues artist and his blues booking agency called American Blues Legends.

Thanks Jason, I look forward to your newsletter here in good old Canada.

Oh boy. I’ve been obsessed with Jack Johnson ever since I heard one of his songs a couple months back.

Other songs by JJ I’d recommend:
Bubbletoes, Good People, Never Know, Traffic in the Sky, Tomorrow Morning, Dreams Be Dreams, Better Together, Losing Keys, Monsoon… and a bunch of others… hes that good.

John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, 311, Bob Marley, Brendan Benson ~ similar tunes

Checking out other recommendations from comments as we speak… more appreciated :D
